Why Ceramics?
“Nothing is permanent or constant; everything is in motion, everything is continually transforming… Just as clay changes with every touch of my hands, so too does our life constantly change, as does everything that surrounds us. That is why I have come to love working with it. This seemingly inanimate material reminds me every day of the cycle and finitude of our life in this dimension. Through it, I express my feelings and experiences… I strive to imprint it with a soul and a new life.”
Born 28 December 1974 in Zlín 1989–1993 Secondary Medical School, Zlín 2004–2006 Secondary School of Arts and Crafts, Prague, specialising in Artistic Ceramics; professional training under the guidance of Ing. Jarmila Tyrnerová 2006–2014 Worked in her own ceramics and porcelain studio, focusing on ceramic sculpture and the production of functional ceramics made from high-fired stoneware and porcelain 2014–2018 Worked as a fashion designer specialising in luxury leather gloves; successfully presented collections at fashion shows in Turin and Paris At present, she works in her ceramic studio in Lukov near Zlín, where she is primarily devoted to free artistic creation. Her artistic mentor is the sculptor Jindra Viková.
